>>> A day has not gone by, over the past 10 years now, that I do not think of them and the bond they shared.

How blessed you were to experience that connection! Certainly something that should be shared with another Apso ... or two. While our little ones can never be "replaced," we can honor them by sharing their unconditional love with another.

Vickie, I had the privilege of having two beautiful Lhasas named Bilbo Baggins and Cham (short for Champagne Treat) Bill was two when Cham came to live with us. She was only 8 wks old and quickly became the instigator. Bill was so calm and gentle that most people thought he was a stuffed animal sitting on the sofa... until he moved! Our little girl, on the other had was never still, not even when she was sleeping! Alas, when Cham was seven, she escaped my in-laws back yard and was hit by a car and died. Bilbo was never the same. He missed his mate so much that he stopped eating. A trip to the vet revealed that medically, here was nothing wrong except maybe a broken heart and within a month, he quietly died in his sleep. A day has not gone by, over the past 10 years now, that I do not think of them and the bond they shared. I had heard stories about mates passing closely, and now I'm convinced that it does happen. It certainly did between my two little loves. I'm comforted knowing they are together... and Cham is still being the little nag and instigator that gave Bill so much joy (and got him off that sofa!)

Vickie, your description of the Ali/Frankers Show with Dante as 'ringleader" makes me laugh. Love your photo of 'resling buddies! It's so much more fun with a 3 pack!
