“Life is finite, fragile, and a gift.” Those words were written in an email which arrived, telling of the passing of a dear friend, Donna Wilt (IAWaterlily) of Iowa on Tuesday, April 29, 2008. Not only my friend, but a friend to many of the “dog folk” as she like to call us. A long-time Apso owner, she was an ambassador for the breed and a volunteer for ALAC rescue. She was a co-owner of of the Epil-K9 list, a support group for owners of dogs with epilepsy. Quick witted, she was also quick to help in any situation requiring assistance — from advice over the ‘Net to groceries shipped to breed rescue in Mississippi ravaged by Hurricane Katrina. Her calendar photos of Gucci and Yeti never failed to make one smile … and wonder how she managed to find all the props and get the dogs to pose.
Dogdom has lost one of its best friends …
